Dear Sir

We have received your letter sent from France. Today I went to the bank, which paid me the 200 £ announced by you. With this sum and what remains in my hands (90 £) I can pay, with certainty, with the present staff, two weeks of excavation, this one, in progress, and the other. and I will have left in hand only some fifty £ [with which we can / work one week at a slow / pace.] Everything is going well, excavation and health. The weather is holding very fine. Forer is working with me on the drawings and is training thus in this new work; having now a level, I shall also be able to level certain parts of the site.
