Le Castel Blanc, 14 Rue Turgot, St.Germain-en-Laye, (Seine et Oise). 6 April 1948.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter of 27 March. I congratulate you very sincerely on your marriage and wish you much happiness. I had thought of doing so verbally this month, but my departure has had to be delayed by an increase in work, and I will probably not be in Beirut until the month of August.

I have duly received the newspapers and the parcel of sugar, for which I thank you very warmly. We would be very happy if you could send us one or two parcels of this kind each month. Please ask Mr Seyrig for the necessary funds; I have asked him to advance them. He will also reimburse you the 28 pounds I owe you in accordance with your estimate of 27 March.

Thank you again and all our best wishes. Please accept, dear Sir, the expression of my best sentiments.

Mr Abdelnour, Secretary of the Institut Français d'Archéologie.
