Dear friend,

I apologise for having kept your proofs so long but I wanted to read them with all the attention they are due. I would first like to offer you all my compliments on this work, which promises to be of capital importance and which I am sure will put many things in their place.

I have certain comments to make concerning the chronology, if not absolute, of the Early Bronze Age at least the that which concerns the evolution of different civilisations which succeed one another: let us say the relative chronology. I would like to discuss this with you and explain my opinion to you in person, but in the meantime I would like to tell you that 1o the forms of the red lustrous pottery of Khirokitia have absolutely nothing to do with those of Vounous. 2o the same observation holds for Erimi. 3o. The forms of the pottery of Ambélikou site A continue the tradition of Erimi and have only the red lustrous (with the black) in common with the pottery of Vounous. Neither the forms of vessels, nor handles, nor the the decoration (which at Ambélikou is almost totally absent) agree with those of Vounous + Lapithos. même les vas
