I think you will like to have the enclosed press-cuttings in which the Engomi collaboration was announced.

It now seems that all the owners of the plots, of which the compulsory acquisition has been ordered, will agree to a new valuation of £25 per donum. This is higher than the previous valuation and on this basis some of the transactions will have to be held over till 1949, as the funds available [handwritten: this year] (£350 from each party) will be insufficient.

I hear from Dikaios that you asked if a division of the bronze hoard could be done by him in Paris, and that he advised that they should be returned for division here in due course. This I am sure is the wiser arrangement, for if another comparable series turns up - as I hope it will - it should be possible for each party to have one and thus avoid splitting of the groups, which should be avoided if possible.

Wishing you the best of luck on your dig in Turkey.

Yours sincerely,

[handwritten: P.S. Do you wish anything done about the removal of the dump before you come?]
