THE ANTIQUITIES LAWS, 1905 AND 1910, AND THE LAND ACQUISITION LAWS, 1930 TO 1947.

Whereas excavations have been and are being carried out by the French Archaeological Mission in or upon certain plots of land situated in the village of Enkomi, in the District of Famagusta;

And whereas Government wishes by a contribution from the said Mission has required by private treaty two of the said plots of land now held under the same registration Nos. 10 and 14;

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is satisfied that either of the said plots of land should be compulsorily acquired;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 17 of the Antiquities Laws, 1905 and 1910, His Excellency the Governor is pleased to order and hereby directs that the land described in the Schedule hereto be acquired on payment of such amount by way of compensation as may be agreed upon between the Commissioner of Famagusta and the proprietors thereof, and that in default of agreement within one month from the date hereof the amount of compensation be determined in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Laws, 1930 to 1947.
