Dear Megaw,

Many thanks for your letterof November 24th and for the arrangements you made to accelerate the mending of the Enkomi pottery during the stay of Michael in Nicosia.

Thank you also for the letter of the C.O. of H.M.S. Armada. Forrer has brought me the 4 Petrakides seals and I am glad to have them and include all eight into my Corpus. I have examined again the cylinder of Egyptian style. Judging from the plasticine impression, it seems genuine, but I confess I don't remember the aspect of the original. Therefore, if you have any doubts, don't buy it before I am back but have it reserved in the meantime[handwritten: (1)]

I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of the papers referring to my lecture at the museum. I enclose the draft for the communiqué to the press following our departure from the island and I leave it to you to translate it into English ... Also from this communiqué please send me a press copy to the above address, by ordinary mail of course.

Please give Dikaios my best souvenirs[handwritten: and may he please check that I am sending a more detailed list of the objects taken with me. I am back and of see. at Beyr. after the 8th april which suggests by most favourable weather.]

Handwritten: (1) Among the four Petrak. cylinders, I discovered that one is an extr. clean fake. Shall we back by Forrer. For that I shall not object of 40 £ = 5 £ less the fake, I think remember he valued it 20 or 25 £.

Mr. A.H. Megaw, Director of the Cyprus Department of Antiquities.
