Dear Schaeffer, Thanks for your letter of yesterday and for all your news. The little bronze statuette is cleaning nicely without the use of drastic methods. It has gold incrustations like those on the bronze bowl and is a very nice little thing. The pottery you brought is beginning to take shape; one of the hydriae very fine. Only this morning I was talking to the Governor about Enkomi - among other archaeological matters - and he said he would like to visit the site during your present campaign. I shall let you know as soon as a date is fixed. I have arranged for the journalists to visit Enkomi on 12th Oct arriving about 10.30. I enclose the import permit pass for your Peter from which you will see that the Veterinary Inspector at Limassol has been instructed to let him travel to Nicosia with you.
