Dear Dr. Schaeffer, Thank you for your letter of 24th. November. I am glad that you are able to meet our request that the borders surrounding our excavations should be left intact. I certainly agree that where roads form the boundaries of our “Temple” area there is no reason why your investigation of adjoining "insulae" should not extend up to the same roads, except where we have made extensions beyond them. I do not think the reserves we would like left intact round these extensions & along the W. side of the "Temple" area need be at all extensive, but I agree it will be best to settle this on the spot. I hope to be relieved of my emergency duties here on or about the 10th. December and to visit you at Enkomi very soon after my return to Nicosia. I have just received by hand from Nicosia your letter of 29th. Nov.
