I shall also stop work immediately along the western limits of your "temple area" and its western extension also left untouched by your department for some time. Here, indeed, the border road of the so-called "temple area" has not yet been found. It will certainly be easy to come to an agreement about how much "promenade" space you wishes wish to have at present reserved on this side. I await your visit to settle this point with you too. I hope you agree that I respond to your wishes as far as the normal continuation of the research of the French Mission at Enkomi-Alasia allows. I have brought this year over from France one more architect (three in all) and an archaeological assistant for the ceramic observations, in view of the work in these areas between the excavated parts mentioned above. It would prejudice my season and the program of my research to stop the work outside the ancient roads which are the normal and ancient limits of the so-called "temple area", north and south of it. I would like to add that I shall not reply to your curator's letter send in duplicate to M. Forrer and which has disturbed and hurt him because of a "warning" it contains which is of course inacceptable
