Enkomi - Alasia, 24 nov. 53.
Dear Mr. Megaw,
Thank you for your letter dated Nov. 15th which has been handed me on arrival. I am grateful that you could arrange to release Michael temporarely temporarily from his Salamis duties to help us at Enkomi.
I looked immediately into the matter raised in your message in connection with our work in the neighbourhood of the socalled "temple area" out dug by your department.
As I have informed you, the program of the work of the French Mission this year will be the excavation of the areas between the socalled "temple area" and our "North trench" and between the "temple area" and our building 18 as well as the buildings in our trench east of it. This is in my opinion the most urgent task in order to clear the town plan of this section of the city which will considerably help us to direct our future work in the most rational and scientific ways.
The second objectif of our this year's dig is the tracing of the western section of the town wall and its connection with the north a south portions of that wall formally formerly excavated. This part of our program is already well advanced and we shall soon be in a position to resume the work inside the townside, reserving for next year the continuation
