hope you & Dik. accept this proposal. For these tests are of vital interest in the exploration of Enkomi-Alasia & of vital importance both to your exploration & the prepared publication, as to my own research in the site I have identified as townsite and proposed to identify with Dussaud as the Alasia capital of the IInd mill. Cyprus. I presume that each series of soundings in my buildings & in yours would not last more than 2 to 3 days; so in a week this important research could be done. Please accept this proposal in the interest of the exploration of this important site. When you reply (I am here until Sept 5th, my address after this date is c/o Institut Francais d'Archaeologie, B.P. 14.24, Beyrouth), please give me more details of the important clay tablet found during your present season & what other signs it contains besides the known Cypro- Mycenaean script. One day we will find cuneiform tablets somewhere at Enk., for the Kings of Alasia corresponded in this script with Amenophis III + IV.
