New evidence contradicting the proposed late date of the foundation of the main building. - When during my 1950 season I have found deep penetrations in floor V from later occupants of the building, I informed you and your curator that this may possibly give a new interpretation of those finds which have been shown me on your dig as evidence for dating the construction of the ashlar building in the early Iron Age (L C III). After having now worked carefully through my rich material of the last season (1950), I declare that I am again convinced that your curator's dating to the XII. - XI. c. B. C. of the ashlar building with floor V is wrong. When going into floors V and below, he will find out (or others will find out) that the ashlar building belongs to the latest Bronze Age (end of L C II) and not L C III, as proposed. It is not a question of being right now, it is necessary to be right in 10 or 20 years from now. Please accept my advice : your stratigraphical and chronological conclusions need careful reexamination by excavating through all floors V to the rock (preserving half of them for future controle excavations). Only when your curator has published all sherds found in the undisturbed body of floor V and in the undisturbed levels below, can he reach
