Dear Mr.Megaw,

After a brief visit to Palestine, sometime in Egypt and than in Marocco, I am now here to prepare my return to Loddon where the long expected events will now soon give occasion to put into action the prepared protection service for the french historic monuments in the battlezone.

Before I take off, I would thank you for your kind reception in Nicosia and also for the offprints you have sent me before I left the lovely island. They are underway already to England where I hope to read them during spare time.

I wanted also to inform you as I did in a letter to Dikaios, that the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique formerly in Paris now for the time being at Algiers Univerity have decided the reopening of the activities of the Ras Shamra Mission as soon as circumstances permit. Among these activities are the excavations at Enkomi where I began to investigate the Bronze Age town so long searched for. I hope therefor that one day it will be possible to reopen these excavations. As soon as the Ras Shamra Mission starts its work I shall make a formal application to your service in order to get the necessary permit. I am looking forward very much to the interesting work to study the first urban settlement of protohistoric time known in the island. Meantime, Hitler must be down first.

With all my best wishes for you and Madame Megaw
