GOVERNMENT HOUSE, CYPRUS.

September 12th., 1946.

Handwritten: My dear Schaeffer,

I was delighted to get your letter of the 6th September, and to know that you were back in Cyprus and had renewed archeological research at Enkomi, in which I wish you all success. Discovery of the mysterious Bronze Age town is indeed most interesting and I shall look forward to paying you a visit before you leave, I hope.

I am so sorry that you, like so many others, are having difficulties with labour which is more troublesome and costly now than it was before the war. I do hope you will be able to overcome them.

I shall probably be visiting Famagusta towards the end of this month and will let you know as soon as the date is fixed.

With my kindest regards,

Handwritten: Yours very sincerely,
