The alterations which were carried out after the conflagration changed the original plan a good deal. The two sections of the central part of the Main Building were subdivided, the part behind the pillar at the south end being screened off, subdivided and turned into two small rooms (IX and X). During the second stage which followed these rearrangements, these [handwritten: stage] rooms were used for cult purposes and in the third [handwritten: (X)] one of them was repaired as the sanctuary of the bronze statue of the horned god which was found there. In the second stage the frontage of the southern building was divided into two rooms instead of three as previously, involving rearrangement of the doors, which now had internal steps down from the raised level of the street outside. Alterations were also carried out in the Northern and on a larger scale in the East Buildings; in the latter the plan seems to have been completely altered. One of the features in this part in the second stage is the large room (XII, Pl. X,^2) on the south-east with a central hearth, which recalls region architecture (1).
