which was considerably modified.

The building continued in use in this form until the time of floor II when a new catastrophe, this time an earthquake, brought down the superstructure and buried under the debris the floors and many of the walls. Following this catastrophe large parts of the building were abandoned. In the Main Building only the parts used for the cult of the horned God were renovated (rooms IX-X, XIII) while the ruins of the South Building were used as a rubbish dump or for occasional domestic purposes such as grinding. A similar fate befell the North Building parts of which were nevertheless re-used. Greater use was made of the eastern part of the compound where following the catastrophe some of the rooms were reconstructed but on a new plan. This period of reduced and rather impoverished reoccupation ended in the final abandonment of the whole compound.
