Dear Dr. Schaeffer,

Thank you for your letter of 14th. The silver cup which Plenderleith has treated seems to be a most important find on which you are to be congratulated. I enclose a copy of a letter which I have written to Kendrick about its exhibition in the British Museum.

I have reported the impending termination of the combined expedition to the Colonial Secretary and await his observations. I have suggested, and I hope you agree, that the formalities should be embodied in a memorandum dealing with such matters as date of termination, publication, future of the dig house and the guarding of the site, which you and I should agree, and that this should be ratified in an exchange of letters between you and the Colonial Secretary.

I note that we should expect to see you here early next month.

Yours sincerely,
