In the volumes Enkomi-Alasia II and III currently being printed I note the changes that have taken place in the organisation of the Mission Archéologique Française d'Enkomi-[-]Alasia from partir du premier janvier 1971. Il suffit de dire here that at my request the Commission des Recherches Archéologiques at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Foreign (Direction Générale des Affaires Culturelles, Scientifiques et Techniques) has appointed Mr Olivier Pelon, lecturer in Near Eastern archaeology at the University of Lyon, as director of the excavations at Enkomi-Alasia. I shall content myself henceforth with the role of scientific adviser to the Mission and director of publications. C. F. A. Schaeffer.□□
