found fragments of bronze and slag. Beside the jar, there was a bowl with concentric red circles on white ground of the sub-Mycenaean type ("Myc. III C 1") (Pt. 13), a painted sherd of "Close Style" type with cross-hatching and parallel lines pral parallèles of the end of the 13th c. and a fragment of stylised figurine in terracotta (Pt. 14), a bull's forepart in pottery "base-ring" with white decoration and two small pieces of gold leaf (Pt. 17), as well as large pieces of slag. Under this last point, the floor gave way to a hole dug into the ground virgin down to a depth of 1,85[handwritten: m] and containing sherds of the Late Bronze, final, a fragment of a spoked wheel, a point and other bronze debris.

Still to the North-West, but nearer the door, one recovered a spherical bronze weight (Pt. 48) and a piece of lead (Pt. 49). In the North-East angle, an inscribed clay ball with 4 signs (Pt. 50) lay on the floor, with a thread wound round it and a bronze knife; a little to the South, in the gap in the wall which seems to be a door towards the East courtyard, a pithos (Pt. 89) had collapsed on the floor; it had been repaired in antiquity by lead clamps, straight or V-shaped; in the interior of this jar, there were sherds of "bucchero" type

The pottery associated with this layer belongs to the end of the Late Bronze: "milk bowl", "bucchero", painted sherds of the 13th c. ,jugs in white pottery with red decoration and spout-tipper, lamp stands with long handle.

The same pottery appears in small fragments in the body of the Floor II which, like the corresponding floor in the vestibule, is composed of a series of floors stepped between 1 m[handwritten: /] and 1,25 to 1,30[handwritten: m]. Each of these floors had been well cleaned before laying the following ;however, a few objects were recovered: in the North West angle, at 1,10[handwritten: m], an ivory disc (Pt. 57); in the South- West angle, a stone[handwritten: (in the form of a carved bird)] , at 1,25[handwritten: m] (Pt. 86); in the South-East angle, at the edge of the foundation trench, at 1,10[handwritten: m] a bronze arrowhead (Pt. 87).

Under this floor, the layer of compact earth (layer 6) contains a number of small sherds of Middle Bronze III (Pt. 56), similar to those found in the vestibule, between 1,25/1,30[handwritten: m] and
