SOUNDING XLVII -

Stratigraphy - Layer 2: 70-50 cm: traces of floor; in places, greenish earth or ashes. Layer 1: 50-0 cm: brown earth. Material - Pottery not abundant, Iron I final phase: bowls "wavy lines" standard type; sherds "bucchero".

SOUNDING XLVIII -

Stratigraphy - Layer 3: 100 cm: traces of floor. Layer 2: 100-60 cm: at the centre of the trench, junction of the two road East-West; to the North, straight East-West wall; to the South, wall oblique to the East, then taking the direction East-West. On either side of the road, and in the rooms beyond the walls, grey earth. Layer 1: 60-0 cm: brown earth. Material - Layers 3 and 2: Iron I intermediate pottery: jug with small cylindrical spout and brown vertical decoration at 90 cm (Pt 39); "bucchero" of good quality.

Layer 1: Fairly abundant pottery, Iron I final: bowls "wavy lines" standard; "bucchero" degenerate; fragment of bovid figurine in terracotta; five sling bullets in terracotta; cup in steatite; spindle whorl in steatite; stone loom weight; engraved bone.

Conclusions - In this sounding, as in the previous one, the excavation reached only the end of Iron I; however the last sounding has provided valuable topographic indications [handwritten: et ...] a brilliant confirmation of the predictions obtained thanks to the measurements of magnetic anomalies.
