20.83Large cup in ceramic "monochrome".T. 1907
Fabric as 20.82, but light red,(under street no. 9)
butand surface holes (drawing)East Chamber,
generally not burst, withsherd 2,
grit breaking through the surface.and dromos
Technique as(all the sherds
20.82, but bowl betterof the upper part)
smoothed. Breaks at the bowl - rim join
allow one to see very clearly how the rim is attached
to the bowl: placed on the thinned rim of the bowl.
Slip: same remarks as for 20.82, but
less thick at the top, has hardly run down.
Bright red-brown inside, light orange-brown
on the front face and on the right, coffee-brown with
milk (black-brown where it is thick, under the handle) on the face
back and on the left, where the surface of the fabric is
beige. Clear line of demarcation only in
the coffee-with-milk part, giving a diameter of 21 to
22 cm for the lower vessel.
Shape: same general shape as 20.82, but
base slightly flaring, angular shoulder without
facet, shoulder continuing the line of the rim, which is
a little less inclined but more concave towards the inside
than on 20.82, with a more vigorous bead at its base.
Handle more solid.
