20.136Ceramic cup "monochrome".T.1907
Light pinkish red earthenware, (drawing)(under street no. 2)
greyer towards the faceDromos.
inner, fine, fairly hard, fairly resonant, not
very porous, with rare small flattened bubbles.
Visible temper, sparse, brown and grey,
fine to medium, and white, medium. Inner surface
with rare holes, small, not burst, outlined in white.
Usual technique. On the outer face,
vertical traces of horizontal scraping, shallow
but particularly demonstrative.
Inner slip light brown (head of
nègre where it is thick) with orange tint
towards the top of the rim. On the outside, at the bottom, same
colour, but thinner, and chamois to beige
yellowish above the line of demarcation (fairly
sharp, diam # 10,5cm). Matt, smooth, non-talc feel.
Inside of the vessel: very fine smoothing striations,
horizontal or slightly oblique, different from the
brush traces of the slip. These smoothing traces
are generally almost invisible on the inner face
of monochrome cups.
Shape similar to 20.133 for the preserved
parts, with inner ridge around the base
