8/10/58 Trench XLI - (see p. 1) The widening of the trench has everywhere revealed at a depth of about 50 cm the floor I, linked to a grid of walls; the west wall, in coursed blocks, must be the outer wall of the house. From layer 1, abundant pottery. To the West of kiln Ptt 25, at 40 cm, Ptt 35: small intact jug placed on the old floor, jug with cylindrical spout, the spout missing. In the room situated NE of the pottery kiln Ptt 25, at 40 cm, Ptt 36: bronze point, associated with "wavy line" sherds and a stone spindle whorl. At 3 m N of Ptt 35, 20 cm depth: Ptt 37: stone seal.

vertical line spanning the last 3 linesPtt 25: stratigraphy observed on the west face of the kiln: 10 cm: top of coursed stones 60 to 70 cm: floor of unburnt brown earth: floor I (layer 2) 70 to 135 cm: upper parts of the kiln collapsed, bricks, wall in places well preserved of the kiln: layer 3 Beyond 135 cm, fill of the kiln proper ashes, sherds: layer 4 Floor I completely masked the kiln which was no longer in use at that time. The kiln must therefore be linked to an earlier floor.
