the vault of fired bricks. Johnstone reported the existence of a "containing structure". This structure was studied in several points. On the West the exterior was cleared down to the rock délitique of whitish colour in which the tomb was cut. On this side, the curve of the chamber fits exactly the cavity opened in the rock. The level of the rock is roughly that of the base of the 2nd course of fired brick. In the extension of the long axis of the chamber, the vault is buttressed on the outside by a sort of L-shaped buttress, composed of an East-West wall of 1,40 m long; width: impossible to determine owing to the existence of a later wall; and of a wall of 0,55 m, oriented perpendicular to the first and 0,60 m wide. These two walls clearly descend below the surface of the rock mentioned above and are firmly anchored inside. In the angle formed by these two walls opens a circular pit whose West wall was carefully built of masonry It is probable that this masonry was built earlier than the buttress and was reused at the time of the construction of it. It is also possible that this masonry wall of the pit was built to prevent a slipping of the buttress towards the South, i.e. on the inner side of the pit.
