medium-sized, set in a single course. It reaches a thickness of 0,50 m. On the East side, it abuts against the rock face of the pit and turns at a right angle towards the South, changing structure. The 2 two first stones of the East wall are set on edge on one of their short sides, the second being rather regular, parallelepipedal in shape. Further on, one can make out the existence of larger blocks. The space between the walls bordering the pit and the wall of the chamber was filled with reddish earth but this is the site of an old sounding made by villagers (Johnstone). On the other hand, one can see in the section on the South side an accumulation of stone blocks forming fill between the two. This fill is certainly intended, like the buttresses to the East and South, to counter the thrust of the vault towards the exterior.
Further South, this fill takes on the appearance of a true wall with two courses now visible. It has been cleared on the East side to a height max. of 0,65 m; w. 0,60 m, with two rows of stones in its thickness. On this East side, the rock rises in successive steps and a wide space ( [illegible] max 1 m ) exists between the retaining wall and the rock face in the upper part. In this gap a floor of whitish earth, 1 cm thick, was cleared
