In the afternoon, visit to the collections classical (sculptures) of the Museum, while waiting to make contact later with the curator, Miltiades NIKOLAIDIS. We go over the excavations and soundings made in succession by L. Morricone (1935-1942) and by Condis (1959) on the site known as the Serail, in the middle of the "tell" of the Bronze Age, among the blocks of houses, rebuilt little by little since the severe earthquake of 1933. We note the existence of stratigraphy in the Condis area, and notably in the street running along the façade of fine ashlar masonry with tight joints uncovered in 1959. Small collection of sherds, several of them Final Mycenaean. At the Café Aigli, on the central square with the Museum and the covered market, we meet the curator in the evening, and an appointment made for the next morning at the Museum.
