ENKOMI 67 XIX^th CAMPAIGN

Monday 23 October 1967Opening of the new trenches for excavation, with 36 men, while the women are clearing weeds from the surroundings of trench 2 W (or "west bronze treasure 1947", area entrusted to Jacques Lagarce). To the east, the long trench opened from 6^h 20 extends over nearly 60 m between 3^rd Street and the excavated area between 1946 and 1949 (south-east of the sanctuary of the god of the ingot). With the help of J-P. Nicolardot, I must ensure the archaeological supervision of this area thus located immediately east of the 3 fine chamber tombs of Mycenaean (recorded by J-P. Nicolardot and J-C Lagarce Schaeffer over the weeks preceding).
