… in April of this year (unpublished Italian excavations L. Morricone). For the week of 3 to 8 October, the notes of Messrs Lagarce and Nicolardot appear on the sheets enclosed, extracted from their notebooks of excavations (1), my own notebook only beginning from the opening of the West Rampart area, i.e. from this week and this Monday 10 October. As agreed, I will send you our notes of 10 to 15 to Beirut, where you will find them on your arrival. The campaign promises well, after a first phase already remarkably fruitful, despite its limited objective.
