Departure at dawn by shared taxi, from Samos-ville for the small south port of the island, to PYTHAGORION (or TIGANI) on the site of the "Samos" of Polycrates. So it is from the ancient port that I leave Samos at 8h00 on a small boat, only three times a week, the launch "Aphrodite", to reach the coast of Asia Minor, where one disembarks at Kuşadasi. It is on board therefore that I had the luck of making the acquaintance of Mrs B. S, of the Mission of the Heraion of Samos, who, by happy chance, was also going..... to MILETUS to meet the Mission of Professor KLEINER, who had invited me during my stopover at Frankfurt on 24 June 66.
