Dear Maître,

We have duly received your letters of 12. X. and thank you very much for them. As Mr Nicolardot confirms to you on his side, we see nothing that is currently lacking and that you could have brought from Beirut. Supplies appear clearly better than last year, in all areas, and I think we will have (1) everything we need until the end of the season. The mission is working in very friendly cooperation, and Liliane joins us this very evening, as you announced to me. Thus united as six, area, photography, drawing, surveys, everything runs regularly, each now knowing his task well, and the site. I myself alternate the supervision of the area of the West Enceinte and the "survey" periods jointly with W. Forrer, where I assist him in l every way possible in his fundamental architectural mission of chronological distinction of the main levels of the site. As was to be expected, the area of the Rampart is poor in finds, but we have the street of Iron I over a good length. Please accept, dear Maître, the expression of my respectful and very devoted sentiments. Jacques C. Courtois
