Before these objects were removed, one hesitates between the possible identifications: sling-bullets or weights? The sling-bullets are taken away, after removal and examination. Another find, even more important, of this Friday 21 October: among the very abundant and remarkable ceramic material of Iron I (wavy line and Late decorated III) recovered from pit 28 (cf. notes of J. Lagarce), the surprise was great to recognise a \*sherd covered with signs painted Cypro-Minoan. This discovery is significant, indicating that the practice of writing on ceramic vessels, known mainly in the prehellenic Aegean, also existed at Enkomi-Alasia in Cypriot Iron I (there already existed, I believe, a few examples coming from the American excavations at Kourion and perhaps also from Katydata (to be checked)
