as the finder he was better placed to to do so. For our part, Jean-Claude and I have gathered graphic and photographic documentation on these objects, for which we took the greatest care. As soon as they were cleared on 29 September, encased in the earth crust that concealed them, we put them into basins of water. We did not proceed with their cleaning proper, but after a long stay in the water, the earth dissolved and it was then that the forms of objects were discerned. The excavation at the rampart, West Gate, continues along 2 trenches of 5 sectors of 4,00 m, one north of the street, the other south, following the excavations of 1966. In certain sectors, a first floor appears at a depth of 0,55 m with wavy-line pottery, but very little. According to your instructions received in your letters of 8 and 9 October, Jacques Lagarce continues the excavation of the wells, and Jean-Claude and I ensure the supervision of the Rampart area. Looking forward to meeting you again at Nicosia as planned, please accept, Master and dear Sir, the expression of my very respectful sentiments J. Nicolardot
