you had fixed, we should have begun today the excavation at the West rampart. This had been planned with the arrival of Mr J.C. Courtois, who was to join us on 1st October. We are on 3 October, and as he has not arrived by that date, I have therefore continued to direct the investigations onto the "Pits", which are numerous and not without interest. Unless you advise otherwise, on your part, pending the arrival of JC Courtois, we continue the same work, with the same team.

Our work is progressing without difficulties and the sherds and vessels which can be reconstructed, and which are of interest, are marked and kept pending their being drawn.

Remaining at your disposal, I beg you to accept, Dear Master and Sir, the expression of my most devoted sentiments. Respectful homage to Madame Schaeffer.

JNicolardot JP. NICOLARDOT.
