Sunday 19 September 1965In the morning, sorting of the shelves in the garage; afternoon, excursion to the region north of the island, with a visit at dusk to the British excavations at Myrtou, the Bronze Age sanctuary at the locality called "Pigadhes", whose ruins are very well preserved, and the stones of the large altar, particularly impressive. This sanctuary appears to lie in the middle of a vast site not yet explored. For lack of time, the visit to Ayia Irini must be postponed to a later date.
