Discussion of foregoing sketch: In W side of Trench floor II barely represented against wall which belongs to this level - it sits above level III Level III = chalk floor c 1.5 cm thick Level IV only intermittently marked with chalk floor c 1.5 cm thick Chalk floor of Level V extends for c 10 cms. On top of this floor in this W face there is a consistent layer of bronze slag marked oooooooooo in the sketch Level VI is but indefinitely marked chalk floor mixed with greyish earth much like level IV. Level VII is apparently a brick tumble area from 1-6 cm thick : this level is to be dated Middle Bronze from Red on Black sherd recovered.

Harmonization of sketch of S wall side of sounding on pp 16, 17. with this sketch of W side :- Levels II & III (pp 16f) = Levels II & III here
