Found in fallen brick level outside cyclopaean city wall (ie on W side). At the place where it was found the stone fill continues on the W side of the cyclop. city wall at a depth of c –1.10 m On the work to date, it would appear that the two latest levels of brick represented by levels I and II in sounding in Tr 5N constitute a later period of reuse of city wall in earliest Iron Age – the cyclopaean part belonging to L. Bronze Age. Whether the brick construction = fortification of cyclop. wall being strengthened (more likely) or simply habitations, is not yet clear.
