Saturday, 28. IX.63. 6h ground, shade 18° C. 32° at 12 1/2. – Nothing special in the excavations. Leave at 9h to fetch 600 L for the pay and bring back Johnston for his installato Enk. and village. – 11 back to town to fetch registered letter arrived with my mail from St. Germ. and leave with Miss for Nicosia. for lunch at the Embassy. Then Miss leaves for excursion to Troodos proposed by me, I return to Enk. – sea bath, read and rep. Sunday, 29.IX.63. Went out of folig, hot wind. – Morning 7 to 10 Mail, then sea bath at 12h and rest at the sea. – Lunch with Cours. at 12 1/2, rest and leave 4 3/4 for Kantara Castle, to see the sunset and breathe air a little cooler from the mountains. – I felt alone, without Odile and noting so many imperfections in the excavations. Return 7h evening to dine at the sea in pt. simple restaurant (Klapsides).
