Friday 18 October 1963The day is devoted to the cleaning of the walls of the Sanctuary, in which two new transverse N-S walls have been clearly brought to light, the thickest and the most important, between the two altars and covered, in the south part of the Hall by the successive hearths 911 surrounded by potsherds; the other wall, of small rubble, narrower, also oriented N-S, is limited to the portion north of the Hall, and beneath the principal II floor of the latter. This earlier wall marks on the other hand the separation hitherto little clear, between the West part of the subsoil of the Hall, with a thick layer of ash, and the East part, where this layer does not exist and where the floor III rests directly on the rock.
