bronze mirror case (✓) with handle

The side with the handle is flat and apparently undecorated. The opposite side slopes to a raised edge and a cen ter raised nearly as high as the edge, and is decorated by encircling raised lines (broad ones bordered by narrow ones). The curved edge has a central fillet distinct all round, but this may be due to springing apart in corro sion. The handle has no connection with the bronze of the mirror case. The bent-back points of its fastening staples may have held it to a facing of wood or some other perishable stuff or possibly, as it is not in the cen ter, it had no connection with the mirror case? The mirror (?) M 272 fits, with margin, within the raised edge of the case.
