FRAGMENTARY CHARIOT GROUP

Apollo, near "altar Two"; surface

PH 0.277

Chariot - car with much of left wing missing, preserves lower bodies of both occupants. * Car with central partition on high base, hole for axle. Incised lines mark off base of wings? Another line on flat curve, like festoon on coch wing and on front, & from this vert. cap line cutting each surface in half.

Occupants wore long chitons with vertical parallel drapery folds faintly indicated. Passenger rests both hands on chariot rim, mark of driver's right left hand on rim.

* upper body at one time joined to driver stem could, as it was a dubious join (now St 316).
