Clay deep brick red very gritty with dark + large white impurtios, fired reddish brown to golden brown. Self slip, hardburnished. Disc base, partly hollowed out, wide spreading walls, flat grooves around rim, close set horizontal roll handles, bent straight up.

a comparison with P879 makes it appear that P879 is actually a gentle deftank and finer fabric more closely related to Bamboula ware and a more rounded shape whereas P424 is Coarser, has sharper grooves set lower and a more angular shape

If P879 is Wh P I P424 = Wh P II do these represent a line from Bamboula ware to Red slip shapes. Becomes mypts Plain white as Mots type For Red slip - simply burnished & burnished, sharper pneumatic nearly burnished.
