Red lustrous arm-shaped vessel (?) RLIW

Wheel made

Clay slate grey to grayish red sound outer surface, very thick and hard, with red lustrous paint, vertical burnish; now has washed-out appearance from weathering.

Tubular shape, heavy thick walls, tapering slightly toward bottom which has the shape of a low truncated cone. Well-preserved to point where jaggedly broken.

greatest length 9, 6cm. Diam. at break 4, 1cm thickness of wall 1cm.

Certainly in RL technique. Morph. clay is unusual. Suggests arm-shaped vessel of Sjöqvist fig. 13
