Frags. Necroted from other sherd bags show horizontal loop handles starting from sides but bent vertically to be more or less parallel with the rim, a typical feature of Red Slip ware.

The shape has affinities with Iron Age Bamboula ware (cf. P 2224, 2241) which itself seems derived from red polished slip shapes. From the context however this pot ought to be earlier and in any case does not look like either red slip or Bamboula ware. Pithos, found LC III with incised parallel lines on rim. in room 14: Inv. 708: Floor 2; Inv. 756c

cf. Coarse monochrome wares like Sh 704, 702 and P 2825 which ~seem~ direct seem to be the ancestor of this type of ware.

Cf. P532 + related pots, P546
