Drawing: plan of stones

At the end of section theta and throughout zeta is a stroma, about 15 cm. down, of small field stones. Larger stones form a slope up to the top of the wall in E - they seem fallen only. Photos 17 and 18 show these stones in place; they were then removed. In H, at about 10 cm, a second stroma of redder earth was found. Section B continues the upper stroma of alpha here piled up about three large fallen blocks. at Below the base of one a fragment of ribbed ware (x). Two sherds were in the first stroma of H, one the pour-mouth of a lamp or pitcher - coarse ware. Red-side (?) stones in center of H. Several pieces of a coarse pot found in fill around fallen stones in B (0). They are about 10 cm. down. This first stroma reaches under the stones here; outside another [illegible] shallow stroma may be distinguished, which produces a few sherds, is running from H. This will be called 2.

In Z and H the second stroma was removed, giving some sherds and one small piece of stone with a rough-picked, flat surface. This took away the fill of stones, and the next level being, it is in line with the 2nd stroma of Θ. In A-Δ the large stones were removed and the fill examined below them. Cont. to 19.
