Aug. 30Villa. Comments: 107 The wall dividing W:1 and W:2 looks earlier than wall at E. end of W:3, or W:4. Has no tile, whereas others use a lot. Stairs to W:1. (Fales' say, from court) they could have been at N.E. corner of this room - Hardly at N.W. corner Note: Mournes bench, fdn for, at S. side court

Outer (S. wall) of Fales stairway to S. entrance was built of squared blocks, now badly eroded cemented with same pearly. white cement found in Theatre back wall. No sign of rock. cut steps that I can see. This wall is just at an edge where rock falls away at least 4.00.

Cement in S. wall of S. corridor is not quite same, it is white, but softer.

Only chance to enter bath from S. would be E-W thru N:6, N:5, and so up to N:2. from which all stairs were removed by squatters! S. wall of N5, N6. would then be merely a terrace. , But wall between N5, N6. would seem to have been built up - hence stopping you. It is however, possible.
