Drawing: architectural cross-section of arch, wall, and drain; labels: Drain S

The chamber at S. of arch has no use, unless it once provided an access to the arena from the Tribune by a light stair against the S. wall Although its E. wall is not built solidly against the extrados, it is hard to see how the arch could have been inserted. The gap between wall and extrados may be due to a packing against the latter. There is no floor. Only toward the W. edge against arena wall is a foundation wall of Jm by the building of the arena wall.
