(23/VI/41) (Bones in Tomb 8 - removal) The south scarp of the fill under the centre of the NE group is very pebbly. Around the corner under the east side of the central group, clearing chavara with pinkish layers, about .04 under the resting surface of the legs levelled [bottom?] of previous page. The change in fill corresponds with change in material of roof of cave. Clearing for floor under this fill, find small gold myrtle leaf (ca. .90 from north side of tomb, 1.30 from E side, level not precisely known, as it appeared in the earth). Large myrtle leaf (length .045) again in earth (Christo a bit impatient) from further west.

NE group after removal of highs bones: Note two arms (both

[margin left: See Film VG 20.8 and 20.6] upper & lower bones) lying across skeleton belonging to skull alpha, one that seemed to be the left arm of alpha, the other the "humerus, radius and ulna" (see top of p. 906) lying over the ribs on the right

[margin left: See Film VG 20.7 and 20.8] the skull β (next, south, to α) with two femurs about in place, lying slightly obliquely across femurs of α. In position, three lower legs (pairs of tibia and fibula) distinguishable on each side, presumably a left and right for each of the three skulls (α, β, and γ) all (legs) lying close on top of each other. The left pelvis of skeleton of skull alpha Christo points out in a blackness of the soil. Clearing the fill south of the legs, uncover at a distinctly lower level (ca. .05 from floor) femur emerging from under. Is it possible that this goes with the α skeleton?

SE group removal connected skeleton first. Skull level -1.56. (Ten extraneous bones beside it pronounced by Christo as of arm. Level higher than skull -1.50) In one box: head, shoulders, spinal column, ribs, iliac bones (latter badly preserved).
