Strait lines fixed by theodolite. Theodolite placed on polygonal blocks on south wall of wave adjoining triple apses at a point 39 cm south of north face of block and 23 cm west of east face of block. This point is in line with the point on south pond levels [illegible] exactly 72 cm south of extreme north-eastern corner of pavement at E-O (11.25) see p. 16. The second point erat is on north cistern wall 50 cm distance south of north face of wall and 5 cm west of west face of east cistern wall (the inner cistern wall is lined with stone [illegible] like west wall of cistern) This sentence taken by dropping plumb along south face of north cistern wall & measuring distance which it fell [to] second course of same north east (cistern wall) from inner bed east cistern wall. Other points ascertained on this line
Line perpendicular to this. 10. Theodolite set on same point over polygonal block passes through point at extreme north-eastern corner of block of north nave wall where it adjoins triple apses. This point is imaginary, as it is on level above block, but is actually plumb right over east face of block at distance of 65.4 cm from south face of block, as preserved. v. & E. 0 10.15 (11.45) p. 18 Next point in same north-south direction on this line is on south north aisle wall 12 cm north of south face
