S. of S. Bldg. DIARY Dug intermittently between 25th JAN + 14 Feb with from 3 to 5 men. 14 Feb 52 S. of S. Bldg. between S. wall Finished cleaning + early wall foundation of S. wall of S. Bldg. to depth of approx. 0.10 m. Below top of foundation between S. wall and early wall from 25.00 - 32.40 m. SE. of W. wall - practically up to store room door. Loose brown soil removed only - no stones, about 7/4 bucket sherds of which I have thrown out 1/2; no tiles; 1 cypriot character incised on sherd P 1994, and 1 frag. figurine placed with S. sherds. No other finds.

14-18 Feb Same 32.80-37.80 E. of W. wall Finished cleaning same 32.80 - 37.80 but only down to foundation of S. wall + over foundation. 4 nondescript coarse ware thrown out. No other finds. Removed from 0.05 to 0.10 m of soil.
