DIARY [margin left: Curium Gate W. porch n.e corner 2913-3] sherd bag. No other finds.
Removed small amount soil below level of pipe line 0-0.40 m. west of Curium Gate wall on course of pipe line only; handful of sherds only; no other finds. Soil about same as 2913-2. The pipe line is clearly older than the gate wall and the west porch wall of the gate. The gate wall blocks it on its e.w. face as does the porch wall also on its w. face. The east face of the porch wall does not reach the depth of the pipe line. It is founded on earth. No trace of pipe line was found here, but the remains of the pipe line occur immediately to the west of the w. porch wall.
